Supplementary information
Gran Duque de Alba brandy is made following the traditional criaderas and soleras system, a method exclusive to the Marco de Jerez region. This process allows for slow and careful ageing in American oak casks that have previously contained fortified wines, adding complexity and depth to the distillate. The result is a Solera Gran Reserva brandy of noble character, with notes of vanilla, cocoa, toasted wood and raisined fruit, making it a jewel among Spanish brandies.
FAQs
Gran Duque de Alba is a Solera Gran Reserva sherry brandy, made from selected wine distillates and aged in American oak casks that previously contained sherry wines. It is a drink with great body, aromatic complexity and a deep, unmistakable flavour.
Gran Duque de Alba brandy is ideally enjoyed neat, in a snifter or brandy snifter, at room temperature or slightly warmed. It can also accompany a good after-dinner drink, dark chocolate or even be used in sophisticated cocktails, although its quality invites you to drink it neat.
The price of Gran Duque de Alba brandy may vary depending on the point of sale and the version (classic, XO, Gold…). It is a premium brandy, so its cost is in line with its ageing process and internationally recognised quality.
Gran Duque de Alba is aged for an average of 10 years using the traditional criaderas and solera system. Some special versions, such as XO or Oro, exceed 15 years, which provides greater complexity and smoothness.
