A genuine vodka, result of the magical distillation of those wines with most “solera” from the land of sherry. Unlike most vodkas on the market, which are produced from cereals or potatoes, ABYSSAL is unique in its category since its origin lies in a highly esteemed sherry wine, an oloroso sherry.
The ABYSSAL project is the creation of the research and development team of BODEGAS WILLIAMS & HUMBERT, a winery with more than 130 years of history. Abyssal is the resulting from 3 years of research and 130 years of innovation. To create a vodka like ABYSSAL, of superior quality and exceptional flavour, the most advanced distillation techniques have been combined with the use of time-honoured traditional processes.
The same stills are used as for the production of the well-known and international award-winning ‘Gran Duque de Alba’ solera “gran reserva” brandy. The raw material from which ABYSSAL is produced is an oloroso sherry which has undergone a triple distillation to 74º in order to obtain the greatest possible purity.
Like a jewel, ABYSSAl vodka waits inside a fantastic black pearl, to be enjoyed by the most demanding palates. Adorned with a piece of silvery metal, in the centre of which is the silhouette of a narwhal; a powerful and mythical sea animal with an imposing presence and bearing a very long horn which reminds many people of the horn of a unicorn.
ABYSSAL should be enjoyed straight, without ice, but always very cold. At the same time, since it is so pure and although it may seem paradoxical, it combines extraordinarily well with other flavours, and is especially outstanding in Bloody Mary.
Tasting Notes: A strong vodka, well-rounded and full-bodied, aged by the traditional solera process. ABYSSAL is pure, as required by the nature of what it is: a vodka. But despite that purity it has a distinctive flavour: rich, full-bodied and complex, but smooth and fine with certain spicy notes. With an exceptionally fresh and vibrant taste. (40% Alc./Vol.)
